up next here at dirt crew recordings is one of our favourite producers and biggest talents in the house scene these days. jay shepheard gained much respect with his fantastic releases and remixes for compost, diynamic, buzzin fly and most recently on his own retrofit label that just saw its launch a few months ago and has been taking off since then. dry percussive house music with a cool disco feel to it and great 80s string hooks. nothing less is offered on this new ep for our label, 4 tracks that go down the same smooth path into house heaven… your dancefloors will love it !

italys marco donnarumma indicated some of the potential of his kuoyah project with last aprils digital release for frijsfo, earning enthusiastic tips from the likes of boomkat. nonetheless, theres no doubt that his debut on wax ups the game ? even in the face of a mix from sully ? by applying a focus capable of working magic in 2010s open-ended dubstep dance. its an overused comparison that probably deserves to be buried, but angel dub does reek of horsepower productions, or more precisely the ducking 2-step and basic channel steals of benny ills classic tempa ep with hatcha.

zt and his kiwi buddy get a bit rowdy this time, with a heavy inspration from the early virus sound of 1998-99. >shallow grave< sneaks in a kicks you in the gut and pounds you like giant haystacks! as the vocal sample states: >i roam when its dark, and take you to some secret place and bury you< indeed! mr.t decided to keep it in the family, irish-style, for the 1st two 12 inches. so after old cohort calibre provided the 1st flip side, next up is zeros original colaborative partner beta 2. its now 10 years since the pair debuted on 4 heros reinforced, and a long awaited return to the game from beta 2 looms large! cabin phever is classic blue note buisness, for those that know! beta tickles the ivories with aplom, plucks the double bass and chops a break in a style remeniscent of that ginger ninja, rupert parkes (aka photek).. two words: film-noir.

ark has got an eclectic and organic sound, something in between. from his origins as guitarist in a number of 80s funk bands, most notably trankilou, where he hooked up with the legend that is pepe bradock and onto the great matthew herbert & losoul with their first collaboration, belle lurette in 99. the alleluyark ep series from 2003 reaffirmed as his status as chief protagonist of experimental, groove led house and techno. his 2005 long player on perlon, caliente won him critical acclaim, which is furthered by his more recent works together with shalom (as shalark), krikor (as krikark), cabanne (as copacabannark), mikael weill (as les cerveaux lents) and dolibox. his cannon of remixes is as long as the channel tunnel, reworking the likes of stephen beaupre, mr. oizo, archive, mossa, salif keita, slabb, fym, robag wruhme
